Meet Jessica Merás-Neitzey

I’m a writer, caregiver, and proud mom of two. This book was born out of a real moment of grief in our family. The kind that small children experience deeply, but quietly.

As a parent of a child with disabilities, I’ve walked this road and seen how special and essential home nurses become. I created When Nurses Say Goodbye to give our kids a voice when saying goodbye and to honor the caregivers who walk alongside us.

    We estimate shipping to begin around January 2027. However, the process could take longer, or go much quicker, than we anticipate. You’ll be updated along the way!

  • Can I order more than one book?

    Yes! You can choose to keep them or donate them. Each extra copy is $10 for donated copies or $11 for personal copies.

  • Can I be listed as a supporter?

    Yes! When you preorder, you’ll have the option to include your name and a note in our Founding Supporters section on the site.

  • How much is shipping?

    Shipping is free for all U.S. orders. For international orders please reach out directly.

  • Where will donated books go?

    We’ll distribute donated copies to children’s hospitals, pediatric clinics, and children’s libraries (both public and personal) nationwide.

  • Will the book be available in stores later?

    Possibly! But Founding Supporters will receive the first limited print run, signed and shipped early.
